VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are vital members of the ECS Team and have job descriptions, receive training and covered by ECS policies, just like paid staff. Without volunteers, many of the services ECS offers would not be possible.
Members of our local community generously give their time, skills and energy to support our clients; in return, we offer friendship, a joyful workplace and a valued role that provides the satisfaction of knowing you've helped people in need.
ECS regularly require volunteers for both office and fieldwork roles. The tasks may involve:
-
Community relations - answering phones, front of office enquiries
-
Administration duties - filing, photocopying, data entry
-
Toy Library - customer service as librarian, processing loans, cleaning toys
-
Support to playgroups - tidying up or setting up activities/toys
-
Social support to individual seniors - assisting elderly clients with shopping, home visiting
-
Social support to seniors groups - setting up activities, assisting on social/shopping bus outings
When you volunteer with ECS, you join a team and an organisation that cares for you too.
Meet a few of our volunteers in the videos below!
When you volunteer with ECS, you will be asked to complete some standard checks to protect both you and our clients. You may be asked to provide one or more of the following:

-
Be covered by insurance protecting both the volunteer and client
-
Be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses
-
Have the opportunity to gain work and life experience
-
Meet new people and make new friends
